Guest Guide

Guide your guests in five minutes.

Overview

A free tool for hotels, villas, restaurants, museums, DMOs and event organisers to create a beautifully designed, branded interactive guide for their guests in about 5 minutes — and share it as a single link or QR code. The guest opens the URL on their phone and sees a printed-brochure-style page: a vintage paper background, an illustrated map with numbered points, and a chaptered legend ("Where to Eat", "What to See", "After Dark"). Multi-property out of the box — a small chain can list every one of its locations under "Your Stay" so the same guide works wherever the guest checks in.

Who it's for

  • Boutique hotels & apartment chains — replace the forgotten check-in PDF with something your guests screenshot.
  • Villa rentals — give arriving guests a calling card with restaurants, taxi tips and the wifi.
  • Event organisers — multi-day festivals or conferences that need a venue + nearby hotels + restaurants in one place.
  • DMOs / tourism boards — seasonal city or island guides, no developer required.
  • Restaurants & museums — a "neighbourhood guide" page guests can keep after they leave.

How to build a guide (≈5 minutes)

1

Enter your email; you'll get a one-tap magic link. No password, no app store.

2

Pick the venue (or skip if you have several)

Search Google Places to auto-fill name, address, phone, website. For multi-property guides (hotel chains, festivals across multiple stages, etc.) leave the address blank — you'll add each property as an "anchor" in step 3.

3

Choose a guide type

Venue access, guest welcome, event programme, etc. The type tweaks copy and section ordering.

4

Add places

Two ways:

  • Auto-fetch nearby — pick categories (restaurants, hotels, museums…) and a radius; the tool pulls top-rated places from Google.
  • Add manually — for places that aren't on Google, or to add another of your own properties as an anchor. Just enter name + address; the tool geocodes it for you.

Curate the list with the per-row buttons:

  • Anchor — mark a property your guests are actually staying at. Anchors render with the dark compass-star marker on the map and live in a dedicated "Your Stay" chapter at the top of the legend. Use this when one guide covers several properties.
  • Feature — pin a place to the top of its chapter with a "Top pick" badge.
  • Hide — keep it in the data but hide it from guests.
  • Reorder — drag-free move within the list.
5

Brand it

Upload your logo (PNG / SVG / hosted URL), pick your primary brand colour, and a guide title. Logo appears in the header and on the print/PDF version.

6

Add transport tips

Nearest metro, bus stop, parking, taxi advice. Optional — leave blank to hide the section. AI can draft access copy for you in one click.

7

Publish & share

Personalise with a guest name (optional), get a short share URL + QR code. Print-friendly PDF export available. Open the URL on a phone to preview.

Multi-property guides (anchors)

A typical guest guide has one hotel and many recommendations around it. Some hosts have several — eight Hestia apartments scattered across central Athens, three villas on the same island, four festival stages. Mark any place as an anchor and it renders with the same dark compass-star marker as the main venue, listed in a dedicated "Your Stay" chapter at the top. The guest sees them as a family, picks the one nearest to them, and the rest of the guide (restaurants, attractions) covers the whole neighbourhood. One URL serves every guest, no matter which property they checked into.

Tips that make guides feel premium

  • Keep curator notes short, italicised, voicey. "Ask for the courtyard table" beats "Greek restaurant with a courtyard".
  • Feature 1–2 picks per chapter, not every place. The "Top pick" badge loses meaning if everything is one.
  • Limit to ~30–40 places for a single-venue guide. For multi-property guides 100+ is fine because guests filter by chapter.
  • Include a hand-picked museum or attraction even for a hotel guide — it shows you care about the city, not just the room.
  • Print the QR on a small card at reception. The shape and feel of the guide reward being arrived at, not just opened.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?
It's free. No credit card, no plan tiers, no per-guide cap. Marketing Greece runs the cost as part of the wider Tourism AI Playground.
Do my guests need to download anything?
No. The guide is a public web page. Guests open the link or scan the QR code on their phone — it works in any browser, no app, no sign-in.
How do I share the guide?
After you publish, you get a short URL plus a downloadable QR code (PNG and SVG). Email the link, embed it in your check-in confirmation, or print the QR on a small card for reception.
Can I use my own brand colours and logo?
Yes — upload your logo (PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP, up to 2 MB) and pick a primary brand colour in step 4. Pick the Vintage Brochure or Modern theme depending on the look you want.
What if I have several properties (a chain, several villas, a multi-stage event)?
In step 1 leave the venue address blank. In step 3, add each property as a place and tap the compass-star button to mark it as an anchor. Anchors render as dark compass-star markers on the map and live in a dedicated "Your Stay" chapter at the top of the legend, so guests pick the address nearest to them.
Can I add a place that isn't on Google?
Yes. In step 3, open the "Add a place manually" panel above the list. Enter the name, category, address, and an optional curator note. We'll geocode the address; if it can't be found, the place still appears in the legend without a map pin.
Do guides expire?
No. Once you publish, the URL keeps working until you delete the guide. There's no "remove after 30 days" countdown.
Can I edit a guide after publishing?
Yes — open the guide from your dashboard and tap Edit Guide. The share URL stays the same, so reprinted QR codes keep working.
What languages does the AI support?
The AI introduction and transport blurbs work in Greek, English, French, German, and most European languages. Curator notes are whatever you type — the page renders them as-is.
How is "free" sustainable?
The product is part of Marketing Greece's public-good initiatives for the Greek tourism sector. We pay the small per-guide infrastructure cost (geocoding, AI text, hosting) to support hosts who care about guest experience.
Why does it say "Beta"?
Guest Guide is brand-new — features ship every week and rough edges still surface. Your guides are stable and won't disappear, but the editor UI may shift around as we polish it. Tell us what's missing — feedback shapes the roadmap.
What can I use this for? Are there limits?

Use it for: welcoming guests to a real place — hotels, villas, apartments, hostels, restaurants, museums, attractions, tour operators, DMOs, festival/conference/wedding organisers. Curated guides for actual guests of an actual venue.

Don't use it for: bulk mailing-list scraping, harvested POI lists, adult or illegal content, harassment, hate or political campaigns, or fake "businesses" used as redirect pages. Abuse leads to a published-link freeze and account suspension.

Beta limits: up to 5 guides per account, max 50 places per guide, max 3 magic-link sign-in requests per hour per email. Tight enough to keep the free service running, generous enough for any small host. Need more for a real customer? Email us.
